My name is Tom Alessi, and I’ve decided to run for Ward 1 Minneapolis City Council. I feel honored to be a part of the vibrant and diverse community that makes up Ward 1 and Northeast Minneapolis. I’m not a politician, but like you, I work for a living and raise a family. And, like you, I care very deeply about my community. As diverse as our community is, partisanship can get in the way of progress and improving our way of life.
I am very concerned with how the people of Ward 1 are currently being represented. I’ve heard from local residents that their calls to their representatives have not been returned or acknowledged. I have also heard about the wants of special interests being placed above the needs of our community. We must send someone to the City Council who will represent the people of the 1st Ward.
